One of the best feelings in the world is to solve a tough problem when creating a Website. This website was challenging because I needed to learn a lot about injecting audio files into web design, creating dynamic and interesting visuals, and being able to create content.
I was able to use a lot of my talents with image manipulation to build this website. One of the most exciting features for me to work on was creating a list of the sermons. Working with the Pastor on the audio files, I have created a multiple-page list of sermons. This format would work for many churches or podcasts.
From a marketing strategy, we decided to focus on that small community feel and really hone in on the history of the church. There were two major goals in mind. One was to create a place where anyone, anywhere could listen to the sermons right off of the website. The other goal was to inform potential visitors about what the church stood for, their history, and their outreach. I think we really accomplished that and more. I really enjoyed working with the Pastor and staff at Glendale Presbyterian to create this site.
A Website created in partnership with Emerald Coast Technical College and Walton County Economic Development Alliance. I was able to collaborate and get feedback with multiple entities including Emerald Coast Technical College, Walton County Board of Commissioners (some are boardmembers of the WCEDA), Gulf Power, CareerSource of Okaloosa and Walton Counties, and the mayors of Paxton, Freeport, and DeFuniak Springs, FL. I had the opportunity to meet a lot of people working on this website!
Some of the web design elements that I learned creating this site were how to use videos, using carousels when you have a lot of information to convey, and I was also able to create a lot of the image files on the website using my growing talents with graphic design. I am very proud of some of the infographics and charts that I created.
One of the biggest goals the Walton County Economic Development Alliance wanted to achieve with this website upgrade was to modernize the site and make it more responsive. This site can now be viewed on desktop and mobile devices easily with a more stream-lined navigation. Our marketing strategy was to optimize the information on the site so that visitors would be able to find what they needed quickly. We were also able to include some interesting drone images of some of the properties that the WCEDA is promoting. All-in-all this was a challenging process, but I think I was able to create exactly what my clients asked for.
This was my first completed project. I approached a long time family friend and asked for the opportunity to create a new, modernized website for her family business. They have a small twenty acre farm where they raise and show registered Brangus Cattle that have descended from 4-H and FFA projects into a family business. The biggest focus was on the shortie jack russells that my friend has been carefully breeding for many, many years. Only producing 2-3 litters a year, their breeding dog stock was originally developed in the 90s.
I learned all about website design on this build. I was able to create a vibrant, informational site that has a responsive design, an easy to update format, and a peek into the life of this wonderful family so visitors who are interested in purchasing a puppy through them can be sure they are getting a well-loved and perfectly bred dog.
